Fingerprints of a church

Every church has its own ‘fingerprint’. The leader(s) of a fellowship are just one curve of the print. Each ‘member in particular’ of that fellowship goes about their lives equally before God, the Spirit working in their midst while they are apart. He does His part to share the fruits and gifts of God’s nature and power, while comforting and exhorting in the privacy of our lives.

When the local fellowship assembles, the curves of everyone’s lives, from the youngest, to the oldest, come together in His name. The Lord of the Sabboth pulls out his proverbial ink pad to look over the collection of curves to see what print that Body will make. Not only does He identify the gathering, but He is looking for opportunity to speak through those members what He deposited the week before.

"How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying." - 1 Corinthians 14:26

There is no question that a church should have attributes that reflect a family. Each local fellowship should make an imprint on each other, the community, and the world based on their corporate identity. Each members should prepare something themselves to bring something to the ‘spiritual meal’ for someone else to take for the upcoming week. Individuals feeding individuals. Families feeding families. This is why it is imperative that you ‘forsake not the assembling of yourselves’. A portion of the meal could be a hug and a smile. Or something meditated on throughout the week; something shared on the ‘open mic’. No part of the local body is unimportant. Churches operating simply as a social event, or entertainment will not protect and care for like a loving family members would when a sibling is in danger.

Do your share & bring something to the meal when you come.

"O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." - Psalm 34:8
